MRP is not enabled , Also RFS is disabled.

We copy Archives to DR with automated scripts.

My 300+ archives are successfully copied there but when i start recovering DR , it is taking almost 9-10 minutes for single archive.

Each archive size = approx 1 GB

Can you suggest , what i need to check ?

Recovering the way you are doing it will be slow. You should configure Data Guard correctly, so that the redo is sent across in (near) real time to an RFS and applied as soon as it arrives by MRP. MRP can parallelize the apply, which you can't do your way.

Yes , I have suggested this solution to customer to allow me to apply the best practice for DG.

But i want to know that , Is there any possibility to tune its performance without enabling MRP..

300 archives at 9 minutes each will take nearly 19 days to apply. During the 19 days there will be more archives generated. The way to "tune" this process is to destroy the standby and create a new one configured correctly. Telling your customer that if you do that, you will invoice him for 1 day's work instead of 19 may persuade him.

Customer administration! Often much harder than database administration Smile
