Hi, I want to know if it is possible to export from Oracle 9i with a Oracle 9i client to send the dmp to a user who wants to import it on an Oracle 8.1.7 database.�I have no problem exporting with an Oracle 8.1.7 client, but I need to export from a computer with Oracle 9i.

yo will have to export data with 8i export utility in order to import it back into an 8i database. You cannot use higher version utilities to import data onto lower db version.

Hi krishnakumar,

if u want to export from higer version datbase to lower version database. first u need to run catexp7.sql or catexp.sql .

then use the export command.
